No worries there. This game, and in fact all deckbuilders, scratch different itches than Rune Age which really is the most unique in the field. Probably my favorite DB game and with the expansion it's one shortcoming is fixed... beautifully.
No intention of derailing the thread, but I am very curious about the one shortcoming of Rune Age. Would you please care to share? I never noticed one, but I am blinded by the genius of resource management in the game.
I'll keep it brief. The original had too scripted a play style thanks to a very small pool of cards to chose from. You knew exactly what combo's you'd be doing time and time again. Adding two new units per faction and the three mercenary units to the common pool really changed that for the better. Plus having two whole new armies to command keeps it's re-playability as high as possible.
As much as I love the base game (I still think it's the best DBG I've played) it wore thin too quickly and the expansion fixes that.
