I bought this game for my 8-year-old (who's a huge DC Comics fan) for Christmas. I'm pretty new to gaming (and so is he - we're sort of getting into it together), and I'd never played a deck-builder of any sort, so I wasn't sure how it would go.But once I figured out the mechanics of the game for myself (it personally took me a little bit, but it would be incredibly simple for anyone who's familiar with this style of game), we had a blast the first time we played and have had tons of fun with it every time since. My son doesn't have any trouble reading the text, understanding what the cards do, or adding up his score at the end. Sometimes he wins, sometimes I do, and we're going to teach it to my wife this weekend.
I don't think your 10-year-old will have any trouble at all picking this up.
