Thanks a lot for all your answers.

There are reports of some people playing with kids down to the ages of 3 or 4(albeit with some assistance)

I have read that thread but i needed a little bit more. At such a young age, an adult will always be present. But at 10 years old, he's going to want to play with just his friends too.

I don't think he could have taken the instructions and learned to play on his own, but he caught on very quicky as I set up the game and went through some practice turns before starting a "real" game.

I think that's the way to go. A lot of games are simple enough to allow teaching through playing.

I bought this game for my 8-year-old (who's a huge DC Comics fan) for Christmas. I'm pretty new to gaming (and so is he - we're sort of getting into it together), and I'd never played a deck-builder of any sort, so I wasn't sure how it would go.

Hey, same here!

Oh, and from what I've read, it sounds like DC Deck Building is a lot less complex than Legendary.

I read the same thing in some threads, but I really have no way to compare.

10 yo can be a heterogeneous crowd but if he is into these things, DC is a sure shot.

Very true. We watch animations shows together (Justice League, Avengers...), so the entrance door here is not board games and gaming... but superheroes!

Again, thank you for all your comments. I'm heading out today to buy the game. I was at the gaming shop yesterday, and i saw that as a bonus, they put the Martian Manhunter card (i read it's a promo) in a protective sleeve and taped it to the back of the box.

Cheers, and thumbs up all around.
