I've read all the reviews posted here and some other ones for both games (can't say I've read every single review on the net but I HAVE read several of them)...and it seems that Legendary is glaringly better, all around).

I would hold that opinion until both are widely available and played a bit more before saying these things. Glaringly seems a bit extreme to me.

Especially since both are trying to fill a completely different niche in the DB/Game market. LEgendary being more of the longer battle vs the game feel and DC DBG being more of the quick filler and one which you can rip through in 30 mins if everyone knows it (almost including set up).

I finally played Legendary last night and the theme was implemented much more intentionally in that game. The big break that they made (wisely) was that each player (deck) is *not* a hero. Each deck is a bunch of heroes, some with more presence than others, or you could focus on one. The cards, instead of being just "Heat Vision", are "Wolverine: Claws" or "Wolverine: Regenerative Powers".

So when you fight, instead of it being like "I'm The Flash and I'll fight this guy with my super-strength and heat vision now", it's more like "Ultron is on the Bridge with two Bystanders as hostages, and Spidey's using his web-shooters while Wolverine is using his claws to attack and his regenerative powers to heal and Emma Frost is using phychic powers to..." It just makes so much more sense. I really felt like I was playing through a comic book. I mean, the Skrulls impersonated the Hulk and Rogue, Red Skull was opening portals all over the city, Ultron had taking hostages down in the sewers, etc. I never got that story-telling feel from the DC game.

Legendary does have considerably more set up, because the villain deck is constructed based on some instructions from the main villain card (so, for example, if the main villain is the Red Skull, the villain deck will always have some Hydra cards in it, mixed with others). But that just solidifies the theme, in my opinion.

Also, I can see the criticisms for the art in Legendary. There are a bunch of different Spider-Man cards, for example, but they all have the same picture. Just different flavor text and icons. I can see how that would annoy some people (in practice though, it does help put the game away a lot faster, since the heroes need to go to their own slots).
