The lack of understanding (and to a certain extent, enjoyment) of DC is when people mistakenly think that because you are dealt a superhero card with a specific bonus at the start of the game, that you are playing AS that superhero. You are not. You just have a unique bonus that is represented by a hero. You are not playing AS that hero though. Let me repeat this...
YOU ARE NOT PLAYING AS A SPECIFIC HERO IN THIS GAME.
YOU ARE NOT PLAYING AS A SPECIFIC HERO IN THIS GAME.
Anyone play DCU Online? It's sorta like that - you have a super hero mentor but initially you are the one becoming a new hero. Hence the odd combo's attached to your hero. You need a little bit of imagination while playing this game.
Someone had complained to me that the didn't understand why when they defeated the SV they would attack the other hero's. The way I see it, I was building up my own league and so I needed to defeat the other hero's/players.
It's all about imagination. If you're too serious then the whole point of this game and others like it, will go way over your head.
When you were a kid, didn't you guys ever dreamed of being Superman's sidekick or Wonder Woman's? This is the perfect game to relive that.
This game wasn't built for tournaments. It was built for fun.
