I like DC better for now. Mostly because I am a DC fan more than a Marvel fan, but also because I like quick, easy breazy game more than complex games. Don't get me wrong, I can enjoy a brain burner sometimes, but with increasing little time to play games, a short (and FUN!) game is just what the doctor order.I have little problem with the theme, mostly because I don't think of myself playing Batman or Superman. I mean, I don't have their most expertise and power at hand from the beginning. I begin as a hero-in-training, mentor by Flash or by Wonder Woman, who would give me some advantage at certain things, but what I "brought" made my hero.
Learn to Kick so I become more powerful, trad a few Punches with Hero to earn their support in fights. Utilize Equipment, gain a few Superpower, and defeat Villains, not just for prestige, but also when the next time that Villain come up (in my hand), I know how to defend against it.
In DC, you're trying to be the best hero (hence the competitive gameplay).
And this game is so easy to teach. I taught my brother to play with me in no time, and he had never played any deck-building game before. The other day I taught another two boardgame freshman/woman, and interestingly the girl gets the game faster than the guy, and she crushed us as Wonder Woman('s protégé)

On the other hand, I'd play Marvel DBG once, which is probably not a good enough indicator, but I'll share my thought nonetheless. The ending is very anti-climatic. Maybe it's because we didn't choose a harder game, and maybe because with 5 players, it's not that hard and just a bit chaotic to begin with, and also, the host pick all X-men heros against Magneto. The guy who wins, never even fight the Mastermind, he just fight a bunch of minions.
Still, I like how the cards play in Marvel DBG, but more play would required before I made a final judgement.
