Perhaps it's because you understand that some imagination is required when a simple 20 minute card game tries to simulate an entire universe on it's own.
A lot of people seem to want everything spoon fed to them and unless Batman jumps out of the box and hands them three real supervillians in a cage then they'll have problems with the theme implementation.

This "You have to have imagination" argument doesn't hold a lot of water. Here's what I can imagine...a much better game for a property (DC comics) that I really love.
"A simple 20 Minute card game." Well, that's an accurate assessment, but your entire reasoning behind stating that as a defense, starts from that "a simple 20 minute card game" is a good choice to represent an "Entire Universe."
That's the point--it isn't. It's a simplistic game that DOESN'T represent a very rich fictional universe particularly well at all. It doesn't scratch the surface.
As to your other accusation that people want things "spoon fed" to them. No, that's just you attempting to dismiss the views of people who want more out of a game from their favorite Fictional Universe than a "simple 20 minute game."
Why is it that people feel the need to falsely characterize other peoples' views, because they don't agree with them. Lack of imagination isn't what causes me to dislike this game. What the game IS (actually, what it isn't) is what causes me to dislike this game.
The fact that a great property like DC comics has been handed over to a company that has slapped it onto their generic (and unoriginal) deck-building system is what is a disappointment to me.
This whole practice of essentially attacking people who dislike or disagree with your assessment of a game is pretty tiring. This would be like me saying that you only like the game because you aren't smart enough to understand or enjoy anything but simplistic rules.
That would be pretty insulting and obnoxious, yet it is very similar to accusing others of lacking imagination or needing to be "spoon fed" (equating them to a baby).
I apologize for singling you out for this response, because this is wide-spread, but I'd encourage you to deal with the actual points people make instead of just throwing some insult at them.

I was joking dude. Take is easy. You sound like you're suffering from a sever case of nerdrage. Take a couple of pills, lay down, and read your favorite comics.
Feel better?
Good.
You clearly went into this looking for far too much. I read reviews first, I knew it was a simple 20 minute card game that I could play with my drinking buddies. It fits that bill just fine. I'm judging it exactly for what it is.
Would I like a super thematic more complicated game that gets the universe just right... maybe, but that sound very expensive and time consuming. I already have enough epic games that are slowly becoming shelf toads. As much as I love long thematic games my collection can only handle so many. I get your points, really I do. But if you knew it was a simple 20 minute card game going into it you'd be fine. If you were expecting rich theme.. then you clearly hadn't played deck builders before because none of them have that.
Yes you have Mage Knight (NOT a deck builder, that's just one mechanic of many)
You have Eminent Domain (same as Mage Knight, it's a more complicated game)
You have the Halifax Hammer.. I mean a Few Acres of Snow .. same story.
This is none of those things. It's very, very simple and for those of us who know what we're getting into it's great.
But I was joking, so no need to get so serious dude. It's just a fucking card game.
