The cards you played this turn are not in the discard pile until you end your turn.

The cards you brought, however, go into discard pile as soon as you brought them, so if for example, you play two punch to gain/buy a Kid Flash from the line-up, KF goes to the discard pile. Then you can use Bat-Signal to "dig" the KF out of discard pile into your hand, and play him.

Sorry I should clarify. I didn't buy Kid Flash or The Bat-Signal, they were in my deck.
When I drew 5 cards, I got 3 punches, The Bat-Signal and Kid Flash.

Yes, I understand fine. I should probably add that your play is incorrect in my first reply.

The latter half of my post is me providing an example how your play would be possible if you buy the cards instead of playing them from you hand. Hope this help.
