Excellent review. While the game was a little dry for me (I am spoiled by Sentinels of the Multiverse for my superhero card gaming fix), I did like the quick play of it.And, as far as the complaints about lack of theme with villains suddenly "aiding" the heroes or whatnot... I just considered it more like an intangible "learn from past experiences" kind of thing. Like, Superman playing a Solomon Grundy card isn't LITERALLY Solomon Grundy running out to help Supes, but, more that Supes is using knowledge and experience he gained from defeating Grundy earlier.
The other complaints folks have had with heroes getting mismatched powers/equipment (Superman having the Batmobile, Wonder Woman with heat vision), Just think of it as an Elseworlds story. :D
As stated before; I own SOTM and that is probably the only superhero card game I will need in my own collection. But, when my friends bust out DC DBG or Marvel Legendary, I won't refuse to play. They're still fun games.
Ignore the haters. Play what you enjoy.
