90 days is over, so here I am!So Warhammer Quest is like one of my favorite games of all times so I was a little pumped to hear about it coming out on iOS.
It's...good.
They made changes, mostly good but some I feel took an edge off the game. It doesn't feel like a total uphill battle in the snow while bleeding out your eyes like the board game does, but it still offers a little challenge. Keeping all the characters leveled the same is the biggest one.
But you can redo "quests" so that helps. Not that it matters about the quest, you can just do random dungeons which are pretty much the same thing.
It's also only like 5 bucks or so, can't beat that. It has three other classes you cab buy and another set of missions, as well as buying gold. I doubt I will buy anything. I've never been one for DLC on any game unless it was free.
So I decided to be a professional magic/wow card player. Yeah I know. The issue I have is how quickly a deck can get over turned. I was about to drop down ~500.00 on some cards for this end all be all deck and then heard about how a 50 cent combo can wreck it should it get played in time. So I might not pick this as my career choice after all. I do have a ton of WOW cards now though. They sell cheap, REALLY cheap for the old ones that aren't really standard tourney legal. And if all you want to do is play the new dungeon decks or the old raids, its perfect.
Catan Dice...Its like yahtzee with some more depth. Don't play the "red side" if you have the deluxe version. Just stick with the 15 turns green side / normal catan dice. The other (known as catan dice plus) seems to drag on for fucking EVER. Not sure i'll ever try XXL
DOOM 3 BFG. I like playing the old games on a big screen. I'm not sure how I feel about the game being a horror game and not an action game. But the 3D makes it tight either way. I hope if they make another they go back to action and not survival horror.
Played the big bang party game. It's like Dixit and Apples to apples from what I remember of those games. But only one guy decides what term or word best suits the category. It can be funny though and knowledge of the show is not needed in the least.
DC Heroes. Well, it feels more super hero-y than legendary does. Legendary feels like they just bought some random IP and tacked it on a game. You aren't a hero and their is very little use in getting all of one hero's power cards. DC however, you are that hero and it gives you some special ability unlike the other people playing. It is co-op/compet. The villain deck does a good job at screwing over everyone and on top of that you have to compete for your cards. They come out 5 at a time and fill back in when one is purchased. I think ascension is like that.
Santiago de cuba. What a neat little game. I've never played Cuba or el presidente but if they are at all like santiago, I need to pick them up. It's got a lot of randomness to it so if you don't like luck based stay the hell away. And like most euro types it has a ton of passive aggressive screwage going on. It's really fun though and some what light. If anyone is looking for a small 45/60 min game I'd say pick it up.
smash up. I'd like to say I liked it but all I remember is my 4 month old having a melt down while I was trying to play and me just passing on my turns so other people could get on with it. It looks neat though. Heh.
That's about it.
Stay tuned in for when I have my big sale. I'm thinking about dumping the board game hobby, at least a little bit.
