Sorry this took me so long to post, been way too busy at work and home since Geekway.
I was able to run a tournament of the DC Deck Building Game at Geekway to the West 2013. We had the tournament on the first night of the con, Thursday night.
We had 8 people sign up early, but had 11 when the tournament actually got going.
The tournament was set up with 3 games for the first round;
Group A:
4 players- top 2 scores to finals
Aquaman - 14 points
Martian Manhunter - 24
Green Lantern - 43
Batman. - 58
5 players - top 2 players to finals
Green Lantern - 38 points
Flash - 43
Aquaman - 24
Cyborg - 27
Superman - 24
2 players - top score moves on to finals
Batman - 41 points
Cyborg - 29
The games were divided basically just by when people showed up the group of two were both people who had not played before the convention at all. The other groups had people who had played before. I spent most of my time helping with questions and just being available to help the newer players.
Almost everyone complained about Flash's abilities prior to the tournament. And Aquaman actually received a lot of love for his powers.
We randomly dealt out the heroes for each game.
The Finals,
Chris - Martian Manhunter - 23 points
Ian - Green Lantern - 26
Pat - Wonder Woman - 45
Joe - Flash - 45
Erik - Aquaman - 48
I was able to pass out quite a few of the Martian Manhunter promo cards that cryptozoic had supplied, but a number of these people already had them. Everyone seemed to enjoy the setup for the tournament. We used the standard rules for the games.
I plan on running this tournament again next year, and having a special bracket for younger players maybe even. We had one 8 year old in the tournament, and my son would have loved to play as well.
Thanks to everyone who played.

That sounds awesome! I honestly don't know why Aquaman gets so much hate, I guess it's the "hip" thing to do. I would absolutely LOVE a Martian Manhunter card if you have any extras. I'd pay for shipping of course. I bought my game at my FLGS and even asked about that card specifically, but the manager told me that they never received any. This game has been a perfect introduction to deck builders for my 11-year-old son, and now it's one of his favorite games. Just today, his Cyborg destroyed my Batman 71-53!
