Manteau is easily the most obscure character I've utilized. She's the sort of co-star of the new Dial H that just got cancelled because no one is reading it (but me). Still, I wanted a power that dealt with Heroes, and she was perfect for it. I worried that she might be overpowered, but my play-testing suggests she's about right.

This might actually be my favorite card that I've made, just because I love powers (in any game) that have an upside and a downside. To win with this one, you have to think strategically and not be afraid to sacrifice for the greater gain.

When I first cooked this one up, I worried that it might be game-breakingly overpowered. After all, in this game, you normally have to play all of your cards, with no holding back and no change given. And here I was short-circuiting that. I originally had it worded so that you only drew four cards on your next hand, just to dial it back a bit. But after many, many play-tests, it became obvious that Elijah was, in fact, under-powered. I reworked it so that you still get to draw five cards on your next turn, and that seems to have brought him in line with everyone else.

Well, that's it for now. Thanks for listening to my craziness.
