I can't stand Ascension... but I love me some DC deckbuilder. For me, it's like they dialed back Ascension and then moved forward again on a different path. This game is NOT going to change the world of deckbuilding, but its speed and simplicity can't be beat. Show up at one of my gaming meetups and put Ascension, DC Deckbuilder, and Legendary on three different tables and you know what will happen? The DC game will fill up and start first. Ascension might possibly fill a short time later. And Legendary won't even have anyone sitting at the table as the remaining gamers would rather just mill around waiting for DC and Ascension to end.
DC Deckbuilder may not be for everyone but Legendary is for no one. Really bad.

Sorry bro...Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game is fantastic. It's much more thematic than DC Comics Deck-Building Game, it gives me the feel of the Avengers movie of trying to assemble a team of heroes, and better yet has expansion after expansion coming out which give the game more options, more flavor, more difficulty (which is needed since the base game is rather easy). So in reality it is the other way around, as based on BGG stats more than double the amount of people own and rate it as compared to DC, with a higher average rating as well.
If I want to play as a hero instead of assembling a team, I would rather play Sentinels of the Multiverse , which is another fantastic superhero game, than have Batman use the tools of another superhero plus the bad guys he defeated, in order to fight another DC hero, who is doing the same thing as him. Convoluted stuff, even though the game is simple.
