DC Comics and Legendary both have different takes on how to address this problem. Legendary does it by essentially having two center rows, one with things to buy with one type of currency, and another with bad guys to fight with another type of currency. And it works, it's great. The DC Comics answer, however, is to just simplify the game and only have one type of currency.
I have been doing a back and forth over this for a very long time.

I own the DC game but as I get more play time, I've become increasingly bored with the mechanics of it. Where as with Legendary, I do like how they have the currency/attack, etc set up. I like how you have a certain amount of time to defeat the villians before they escape. I makes the game far more interesting strategy wise as well a lot more fun. And Marvel already has 2 expansions with the base game, where as DC...well, still waiting...

I've never owned anything Marvel before but I am seriously considering purchasing this game because of all it has compared to DC.I want to continue to play DC but it seems to me that it's lacking a lot of components that Marvel has.

I'm bouncing back and forth...should I get Marvel?
