Ah yes, the DC Comics Deck-Building game is one with much talk actually. While Legendary has been a favorite at my group, DC has always had a soft spot in my heart. For one, I like DC more then I do Marvel just because I'm a Batman fan. However, I got Legendary because my friends love Marvel. DC on the other hand is a simple deck-building game that everyone can get into and so we decided to play a good game of it. It was Superman vs. Wonder Woman vs. The Flash (me) and I had the honor of going first.
At least being the fastest man alive has its benefits.
The deck was shuffled and the cards were bought and Superman decided to play The Scarecrow, giving us weakness in the process. I didn't mind because I knew that one card could help me take the lead with these weaknesses: Bizarro. At the end of the game, every weakness you have will be worth 2 VP when you have Bizarro and this would be my winning factor while trying to get more villains.
But for some reason, he never came out.
Slowly, the Super Villain pile was getting smaller and I was running out of time. I quickly bought cards in bulk in order to try to get my favorite villain on the field. As Superman continued to gain Super Powers, Wonder Woman continued to gain villains. I was just all over the place. A few cards gave me more cards in my hand but it wasn't enough to try to get Bizarro out.
Finally, Wonder Woman defeated The Joker to end the game and I hoped that with all the cards I bought, it would give me the much needed win for a game I really love.
It didn't.
Superman had an impressive 28 VP (it was my friends first time playing the game).
Wonder Woman had a lovely 38 VP.
As for me and Flash, we ended with 37 VP, the weaknesses I gained would be my downfall. But the sad news?
Bizarro would've showed up if three more cards were bought.
Don't worry Flash, there will be another time where we may win a game.
