This is like drafting in trading card games.If someone doesn't have a full hand of 5 cards, someone else will likely end up with fewer than 5 cards in the end.
There is no requirement that a player ends up with the same number of cards he started with.
A player who avoids the Attack does not participate in the draft in any way.
You must take a card from your own hand before passing the rest of the cards that were in your hand to the player on your left.
You must take a card from each "hand" you are passed.
When you are (finally) passed a single card, you must take it and place it with the rest of the cards you drafted. That pile of cards is now your new hand.
