This is much different than your suggestions, but I messed around with a possible NASCAR themed game.Instead of Super heroes you select a driver with certain bonuses on their card instead of a power. Then get dealt starter cards and can "buy" cards like track position, pit stop, horsepower, etc... Opponents can give you breakdown / crash cards instead of weaknesses. You would buy lead lap cards instead of defeating Super villains. Once all the lead lap cards are gone, the race is over. Add up victory points to determine the winner. I also have some ideas how to "move the field" so you could play a full field of 43 cards even while playing as 1 to 5 drivers.
Heroes = Drafting partners, pit crew, sponsors
Super Powers = Horsepower, Track position
Villains = Traffic
Locations = Pit Stops
Defense would allow you to avoid crashes and damage.
I don't know how much of an appeal it would have, but I thought the engine lent itself to the "sport".
