Reply: DC Comics Deck-Building Game:: Reviews:: Re: Clean cut, straight to the point, and just the right amount of fun - Just like Superman.

You don't really play a superhero like in Sentinels of the Multiverse. You are kind of a leader of a group of superheroes with super powers(aka superheroes and powers are your deck). You recruit them (buying hero cards) and tell them how to fight for you (super powers). Sure you can start out with a main character that gives you bonuses for drafting certain cards (batman and gadgets) but you don't actually play batman as your deck won't be made up of just batman and gadget card. It's more like he's your general of the group and gets the bonuses.

Or you can think of it as you are very loosely playing batman and get bonuses for using gadgets, but drafting superman powers or flash powers is like them coming to your aid as opposed to batman being able to fly and run fast.

I don't think this game tries to be more than a generic deck builder with a loosely pasted on theme.

Sentinels is much more like you play a hero because you are playing from a fixed deck that is themed based on a character. In no way is DC like that.

I found DC kind of boring and generic.
