I'm not a jerk, so I don't buy cards unless they benefit me. My group does the same. However, when the game is drawing to a close we go for the throat. I find this method to be more sporting and fun. We're able to go all out during the final rounds with decks perfectly suited to our Superheroes.The first few games me and my group played, we played as jerks and would fight over Suicide Squads and go for as many cards as we could get just so the next player got nothing of use to them. But this lead to slow, painful games with one player being the only one generating enough power to defeat Super-Villains and every other player trying to play catchup.
