This "You have to have imagination" argument doesn't hold a lot of water. Here's what I can imagine...a much better game for a property (DC comics) that I really love.
"A simple 20 Minute card game." Well, that's an accurate assessment, but you're entire reasoning behind stating that as a defense, starts from that "a simple 20 minute card game" is a good choice to represent an "Entire Universe."
That's the point--it isn't. It's a simplistic game that DOESN'T represent a very rich fictional universe particularly well at all. It doesn't scratch the surface.
As to your other accusation that people want things "spoon fed" to them. No, that's just you attempting to dismiss the views of people who want more out of a game from their favorite Fictional Universe than a "simple 20 minute game."
Why is it that people feel the need to falsely characterize other peoples' views, because they don't agree with them. Lack of imagination isn't what causes me to dislike this game. What the game IS (actually, what it isn't) is what causes me to dislike this game.
The fact that a great property like DC comics has been handed over to a company that has slapped it onto their generic (and unoriginal) deck-building system is what is a disappointment to me.
This whole practice of essentially attacking people who dislike or disagree with your assessment of a game is pretty tiring. This would be like me saying that you only like the game because you aren't smart enough to understand or enjoy anything but simplistic rules.
That would be pretty insulting and obnoxious, yet it is very similar to accusing others of lacking imagination or needing to be "spoon fed" (equating them to a baby).
I apologize for singling you out for this response, because this is wide-spread, but I'd encourage you to deal with the actual points people make instead of just throwing some insult at them.
