I'm quite proud of myself for this concept, though I'm still not sure how balanced it is. There are only 12 cards total that will activated this character's power, but if he can get hold of a couple of them, look out.
Static's powers may seem like the least thematic of any character I've made, but they make sense in my mind. In the comic books, his powers can sometimes be absurdly numerous and obtuse, but are all basically electromagnetic. So the first part of his power pays tribute to the fact that he can basically just do one thing, while also being a bit of a joke on my part about how much different stuff he can seemingly do with that one thing. (Like, just settle down and pick a power!) The second part of his power is a nod to his youthful inexperience and helps balance out the fact that his main power is a little bit weak. Plus, I just like the idea and wanted to use it somewhere.
Power Girl was one of the very earliest cards I made, but with a totally different power. After I decided that I wanted a Resurrection Man card, I couldn't think of a better power for him than the one I'd already given her. Inspiration for her new power came from MrEleven's Supergirl. And by "inspiration," I mean that I basically just stole his idea because I thought it was cool. :p
I'm also so fond of his Oracle that I printed myself out a copy to use in my own games, without altering it in any way. Check out his thread here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/996593/custom-cards
I'd seen a couple of different ideas for Dead Man, but wasn't happy with any of them. I knew I wanted something that involved "possessing" cards, but Emerald Knight already does that with Heroes/Super Powers/Equipment and J'onn J'onzz already does it with Super Villains. So that just left regular Villains. Still, I wanted to work Heroes into it somehow, and just being able to possess a villain in the lineup every turn seemed way overpowered. I couldn't decide if he should have to play one Hero first or two, but either way it would be a bit too much like Martian Manhunter's power--thus the "total cost" idea was born.
Okay, so that's all the cards I have currently. I'll probably wait to see what havoc Heroes Unite wreaks on my current characters before I make any more.
