If DC is horrible but is better than Ascension, that must mean that Ascension - a game you used to love - has really fallen out of favour.While I agree that playing just the base game of Ascension is a little limited, the expansions have, in my eyes anyway, really made this game come alive.
With energy shards, and now dark energy shards, soul gems, fate, events, and the fanatic, Ascension is (again, in my eyes) bursting with interesting situations and combos.
I like Legendary but much prefer Ascension with expansions.
I've actually steered away from DC as you are not the only one to suggest that it's too stripped down.
So Ascension worse than horrible? No way mate! :p
