Isn't the entire point of a deck-building game to make the most effective deck? Whether that requires it to be slim or not depends on the strategy I suppose.
My point is, replacing cards that aren't effective is an inherent part of the game. Take DC Deckbuilder for example--the Vulnerability card literally has no purpose, but to take up deck space. NOT thinning that card out is like drawing less cards--an inherent detriment.
