That's the key to me right there. Dominion put out three really solid expansions but is the DC deck builder equal to base game Dominion... well it's less solvable and more thematic... as in the setting does matter on occasion. But I don't think the better player will win more often... this is not a bad thing for me since I love games like Survive I'm more than up to the challenge of letting luck decide a few things for me.
I do think, thus far, that the DC deck builder feels more fun, and in the final summation of things that's the most important detail of all. But will that fun last for the long haul.
It's all up to those expansions you reference. They have to nail it.
