Hello, Casey! Great to be getting some dialogue going on this thread. Thank you!

With Man of Steel, it was not the fact that we were allowing it to determine the outcome of our games. It simply did. Imagine playing Chess, except one player has a piece that can jump instantly to any black space. That piece would determine the result of the game whether you let it or not.

Man of Steel is easily abused through this basic maneuver: The player plays all cards except for MoS. They buy as many Super Powers from the Line-Up and/or Kicks as possible. They then play MoS, allowing for another large purchase. This snowballs each time it is done again.

We've found that if a player buys this card during the first two thirds of the game and focuses their strategy on this, they rarely lose. This is most noticeably a problem in 2 player games. By placing Man of Steel into the Super Villain stack, it helps to delay or prevent the card from coming out. It still ends up heavily affecting many games, but now it does so with much less frequency.

If you haven't noticed that Man of Steel is controlling your games in this way, great! We'd rather that it didn't either, but we simply cannot hold ourselves back from abusing this card.
